Things of interest.

Firstly, words can’t describe how excited I am about about Oliver Stone’s forthcoming ‘W,’ which now has the above poster image.  I know it’s going to be shamelessly partisan, but so were JFK and Nixon, and they both turned out pretty good.  Stone knows better than any other director how to push a good liberal’s buttons, and the cast is terrific, with Richard Dreyfuss as Dick Cheyney a particularly good choice.

Also, Keira Knightley continues her obsession with hitting every role written for an Englishwoman by going up for My Fair Lady.  I wish she would do more films like the excellent Domino, surely she’s taking the period drama obsession a little too far.

One of my favourite bands of all time are the now very much defunct Refused, and having bought the excellent documentary on their break up, ‘Refused are F*cking Dead’ I had consigned the thought of any sort of reunion as being as impossible as getting Fern Britton to lose weight naturally. So imagine my delight to hear that the bands two main songwriters have teamed up for a new project. I just hope it produces something as exciting as the very aptly named ‘The Shape Of Punk To Come,’ which to me is not only the greatest Hardcore album ever made, but which did exactly what it said on the tin by defining the direction that Hardcore has taken in the decade or so since.

And if anyone is in doubt about the utter ludicrousness of John McCain’s campaign, simply follow this link.

My favorite: “You’re working hard to put food on your family…” You can’t write that.

If you want anyone who was in any doubt about the utter ludicrousness of John McCain’s campaign to follow that link, simply fix that link (double http:// all in there)…

How long before “That’s not change we can believe in” becomes an Internet meme? I think we should just start using it to express mild disappointment… When things don’t really matter all that much but you feel like you should say it anyway…

Jonic: Put the kettle on Paul.
Paul: I made the last lot, it’s your turn.
Jonic: (crestfallen) That’s not change we can believe in.

It could work…
