A quick escape

I normally wouldn’t talk ill of the newly deceased, but in Ken Lay’s case I’ll make an exception. It seems the man who can weasel out of pretty much anything has weaseled out of his corruption charges for the final time. Next, Karl Rove.
Another thing that’s depressing me recently is the lack of depth reporting about Israel and Gaza at the moment. Is it just me or is this a situation that threatens international security more than any other at the moment? Israel has already buzzed the Syrian capital once, and if the surrounding states get sucked into this conflict, it’s not going to be long before Bush decides to get trigger happy. Maybe the news organisations are hoping that if they don’t talk about it, the Americans won’t notice. I know the Israelis want their man back, but what happened to good old investigation in such cases? Carpet bombing Gaza seems likely to end in only one result for the fella in question.
